In November 1999, Elecon MHE Division achieved international recognition by receiving ISO 9001 Certificate from M/s. the TUV SUDDEUTSCHLAND (formerly know as TUV BAYERN) for Design, Manufacture, Supply, Erection, Testing, Commissioning and Servicing of turnkey material handling systems and equipments.

In November 1994, Elecon Gear Quality Management System achieved international recognition when it was conferred the ISO 9001. The Elecon Gear Division is acknowledged as the most modern in the industry - more than 85% of machinery and testing equipment is computer controlled, ensuring a high degree of precision in the manufacture and testing of gear components.

TUV-CERT, Germany, under certification number 041004756, has certified that Elecon Gear Division Quality Management system conforms to the internationally accepted ISO-9001 Standards.

The certificate covers Quality Assurance in Design, Development, Production, Installation and Service of Mechanical Trasmission Equipments, Helical, Worm and Special Gear Boxes, Fluid and Geared coupling and Accessories.

The ISO-9001 certification gives six distinct advantages:

At Elecon Gear Division, right from beginning, our approach was not to get merely ISO-9001 certificate, but establishing quality system consistancy at grass root level. Our objective was demonstrated first, while qualifying at pre-auditing in November 1994 and observing No Non-conformance in three consecutive six monthly surveillance audits carried out by certificate agency TUV-CERT. 5 S training Programme was held from 17th Sep’ 07 to 20th Sep’07 at Gear Division of Elecon engineering company Ltd which was conducted by Shri Hemendra K Varma, director of 5 S Institute Of India.

The 5 S Programme focuses on achieving visual order, organization, cleanliness and standardization. Following 5 S results in reduction in search time, improvement in housekeeping, improvement in efficiency and profit, cost savings, quality and safety. The 5 S Mantras is about ‘Seiri’ (segregate), ‘Seiton’ (set in order), Seiso (super clean), Seiketsu (standarise) and Shitsuke (self discipline/sustain).

We, at ELECON have implemented 5 S at our work shop as well as at office areas it helped us in form of release of space, faster search as well as easy reach, cost saving, improvement in efficiency, quality, safety etc.

The letters 'CE' on a product are the manufacturer's claim that the product meets the requirements of all relevant European Directives.
CE Marking on a product:

• indicates to governments that the product can be legally sold within the European Union (EU) and the European Free Trade Area (EFTA),
• ensures the product can move freely throughout the European Single Market,
• indicates to customers that the product meets designated minimum safety standards and therefore a minimum level of quality,
• promotes public health and safety,
• enhances product credibility,
• leads to improved sales and greater customer satisfaction.

CE Marking is mandated by New Approach Directives. Many products are covered by these directives, and to be placed on the market in the EU, some must bear CE marking - it's a legal requirement. CE marking is the manufacturer's claim that the product meets the essential requirements of all relevant European Directives.
